gather statistics for games

my job is gathering information on industries worldwide and selling them to companies.

you could literally make millions this way because :

  1.  discord is free and fun to use
  2. almost all gamers use it
  3. discord is perhaps one of the most common softwares all gamers on all platforms use
  4. it already has the ability to show who is playing what and following what.

using all those, you can make accurate statistics for each game and not only show it publicly but have another part of it which is only useful for the game developers.

 

ill give you an example.

few weeks ago there was a test session for an upcoming game in development called "ashes of creation"

and there were atleast 3 places to download the games and run the game from.

which resulted in the community not being able to find solid and complete numbers and statistics. (idk about the devs)

but the channel had 1 common thing between all those thousands of followers

which was "discord" 

so by far the most accurate and common software for gamers and game developers is discord.

not individual data, but data as a whole , like "1k people played this game at this time" 

use it for betterment of the future of gaming and for access to free information.

    No way! Why do you want Discord to be selling your data? That's a huge privacy issue!

    Discord has already stated multiple times that they do not and will never sell people's data.

    its not selling individual's data, its selling data as a whole

    no one particular will be mentioned at all !

    Lots of people (myself included) still wouldn't be comfortable with having our data collected and then sold to a third party.

    I still don't feel comfortable with companies selling any data. Even if they aren't selling my data, it still makes me feel uncomfortable at the thought of having any data being sold

    i thought it would have been useful for devs and for gamers to access this free anonymous information and help them choose their games better

    It's not up to Discord which games are on the store, the developer of the game has to add it themselves.
