Reply Feature - Ping Toggle
Hello Discord Team.
I actually love the new reply feature. I think it's very clean, and the ability to have the ping on/off is great. But maybe we could take that one step further.
Could we allow the user to select if they would preferred the ping to be on or off as their own default? I think most the people in the servers I am in would prefer to have ping off 99%, and turn it on once or twice as required.
Thanks for your consideration.

Alternatively a per server default setting could be added. So server owners can set the default reply pinging to off.

Yes, please allow making ping off by default when replying. I have to spend a lot of effort turning it off every time, because that's how I prefer to use the feature.

To receive a ping for replies should be a toggle on the receiving user's account. We have user-end ability to suppress pings for roles, and some people experience distress on receipt of pings and choose to suppress every other type of ping notification from a server. Not giving users the ability to suppress receipt of this type of ping makes using the reply function as-is by default (set to ping) an auto-ping feature, rather than a chat-organizer feature. It results in the sender having to know and remember to turn off their ability to bypass a person's ping preferences when using an otherwise really helpful chat organizer feature. I love the reply function! It lets people navigate the chat easily between multiple different topics, and I think that without the auto-ping feature it will continue to be a feature with value to servers that have many simultaneous conversations in one room.
