Appear offline to different people
Sometimes you have friends and family on discord who you don't want to show that you've been staying up late at night or playing certain types of video games. We have offline mode for this reason but It would be much better if we could appear offline to certain people we select and online to everyone else.

It's more funny to think that a software lauched in 1996 (ICQ) had a feature called INVISIBLE status... and it's 2021 and Discord can't do it...
Even with we saying that we need it.. and we love it... and we want it...
Two years of us speaking to the wind... :-(

CrazySpy Well, Discord _has_ an invisible status. But not the advanced, selective invisible status that seems to be needed (or at least really wanted) in modern society.

Or you are Online to everyone... or you are offline to everyone...
People here is looking for a way to be online to a few group of people while offline to everybody else.More sad then don't have the feature.. is been ignred by discord staff on this topic.

Yeah, it's the all or nothing thing,CrazySpy. I just wanted to clarify that it's not worse than the thing ICQ had back in the day. Just the same thing without any improvements.
And of course I agree that it's sad nobody seems to take notice of this request.

At this point, i doubt they even read any of these posts. Discord staff don't listen to the community, they just do whatever they want.

Do posts like this actually get replied to or read by the Discord staff? Or is this generally a place for users to discuss issues publicly and assist each other?

4yrs later and i still want this!! please make it possible. a lot of ppl are just not comfortable having anyone be able to tell if they're online and what they're doing.

I know its been bumped for 4 years, but how is this not a feature yet?
There are some people I dislike, but they are in the same server as me and I don't want to leave the server, blocking would cause a confrontation eventually, but just blocking him from seeing my online status would be awesome! I know of several people in my DMs i would do this to.

I don't understand why Discord doesn't pick up this thread. I understand that it's not the best way to deal with people you don't want to interact with, but I can see many situations where I would like to use this feature. Just another example: I worked as a tutor when I was a student and I hated it when people from our uni Discord called me in my free time.

Please, Discord staff, we don't need no Banner Quests or Nitro Banners. No offence but, THIS is a really important update that would save us A LOT of worrying and would make our experience with the app A LOT more enjoyable.

It's ridiculous! This post if rom 5 years ago… and we are requesting a feature that was present in ICQ in 1996.
It's not that hard create a INVISIBLE list…
But no… Banner quests are more important… Banner quest is what the community want…2 -

Still asking for this feature, nearly 6 years later. Discord truly only cares if it affects their bottom line. Customer privacy be damned.
