Make Verified Bot Badge

This is a suggestion for a Bot Verified Badge with all Problems and solution that it gives and why it should be integrated. Please read until the end before Voting, this is the result of a huge work.

1. Short Description

The Verified Bot solution allow Bot owner to send their bot to verification, One accepted the Bot have just a Verified Badge and a Verified Server, he is not listed on server Bots on each server. This is for impose security Solutions on Bots and avoid Server Destruction by Bots. The Verification Solution does not build on the Number of Servers but Only on the Code and Security.

2. Problem Solving

Most of "Raids" on Discord are done by Copy of Official Bots (Such as MEE6) or not trusted bots, sadly the support does not help on these cases because it's to the owner and admins to verify the bot. This can allow Owners and Admis to Trust a bot and don't have to research bot or test it on a other server.

This can Allow Bot owners to access to Verified Features to help Building a Special Bot, This gives to the Owner access to the Big Bot Gateway.

3. Opposition to This solution (Way of Selection)

For me the number of servers and users means nothing, i have solution Listed here

The way of selection can be one of these ones:

  • Must have Secured Request Header
  • You must keep one single IP or a IP Whitelist
  • You must do Shards
  • Your Bot must be Open Source
  • You must have a Support server and a Moderation Team 
  • You must have a good Uptime
  • You must have the Discord Developer Licence
  • You must have a website with a Valid Certificate
  • You must have no recent report against you or your server for the last 6 Month

4. What sweet Perks the Bot will have ?

    I would love to be able to verify bots, though a few things here:

    Most of the raids across Discord are caused by users creating lots of accounts and automating all of them, having a large audience and taking advantage of that, or compromising accounts via some other method.

    I don't really understand what you mean by "Secured Request Header". The dynamic ip bit doesn't work if you switch hosting, that's unavoidable for most sizable bots, I've switched between 6 hosts in my bots 3 year lifespan. The "most do shards" bit doesn't make much sense, the gateway forces you to have shards after 2500 guilds, and after 100k (EDIT June 15th 2020, it's 250k now.) they force you to use specific shard counts. I also definitely do not agree with the open source bit, this would bar the vast majority of large bots from this. While this would make it much easier to see anything suspicious, the posted code in most cases is not what is running. (some compiled/transpiled languages like TypeScript look completely different from their source, and the config files and other secrets that are left out), so it's not really solving that problem, there isn't a way to solve that problem. On the "must have the Discord Developer License" bit, I disagree with this, you shouldn't need to pay for verification, that would be an indirect payment gateway. Otherwise, I would love to be able to verify bots.

    Donovan, The Secure Header and the IP verification is made with website, you need to go to the developer app and enter an single IP or more, Of couse Big bot will be accepted even if they dont have open source. This is a solution for Small bot, i fight to get small structures accepted by this way.

    For Dev Liscence it's for separate Trols from Serious users.

    And remember this structure is for Discourage not serious bots to be posted, and this is proposition of solutions against this problem:"How to Authorize smalls bot" because i dont want bots with potential to be on the edge.
