"notifications > all messages" ignores server muting
The current default is that if one sets an entire server to mute it stays muted no matter what.
The "notifications > all messages" option that ignores a server's defaults is useful only in the (very very) edge case in which the owner of the server has opted for a channel to give no notifications
That said what would make this option actually useful is to allow it to ignore server muting.
LONGER EXPLANATION:
This is usually useful for those servers with more than 50 users that constantly spam messages several times per day per hour and that are unreadable/unfollowable unless that is the very only thing you do all day and you concentrate only on those servers.
But those servers do have channels for the special announcements, which would be very useful to follow even if you are not a superfan.
Currently the only option is to go category per category and channel per channel and mute each single one of them.
With the obvious risk that channels get moved around or added and your cellphone suddenly starts dancing the macarena because people start writing in mass in a new channel or something.
Or you miss all the updates because the notifications channel you carefully left untouched by the muting was shoved into a category that you had muted.
So while options are there to make it bearable to follow servers with a boatload of users screaming their good day whenever it's morning in their timezone and shouting about whatever passes in their mind, instead of sticking to the server's topic...
...it would be a lot more useful to just mute those servers and allow only selected channels that stick to a specific topic (usually because only moderators can write in them) to notify me of new messages.
