In Direct Messages have something like a "read" from the other person, so you know if your friend just decided to ignore you, AKA a notification under your message stating if the other user or which group members have read the message, and the time.
On the iPhone in iMessage, when you text someone who has an iPhone (I think)
When you send a message, and they "see" or "read" it. It'll say something like "Read 10:51PM"
Example
"Hey bro you wanna play some Minecraft today?
If your friend decides to ignore you and doesn't want to play with you, you'll know because it'll say
"Read 10:27PM"
In Group DMS, it'll say
"Read by [user], [user], [user] and a Timestamp will be provided
as seen here, using imessage, It'll say "Read 10:53 PM"
In that case, it'll be "read yesterday"
It should say on discord "Read yesterday at 10:53 PM" It'll show in your timezone, of course.
You'll know if your friend just decided to ignore you, which would be sad, but at least you'd know.
Please add this, I wanna see which friends I have are fake.
tl;tr
Gives notification under your message to see if your friend read it, and the timestamp provided. So you can find out if your friend ignored you, didn't respond, or even read your message.

this is a really good option but the problem is that some people (Id**ts) think that you don't have to know if they ignore you because that's a part of their privacy

This is exactly what I thought of as well. You gave an example of iPhone messages, though this system is also implemented in WhatsApp. When you send a message but it doesn't let you (this could be for any reason, like not having internet connection), a little clock appears at your message. On Discord, your message will be a little transparent and keeps trying to connect. A check mark on WhatsApp means that you have succesfully sent your message, but it hasn't arrived at the other person. You're not able to see this on Discord. Your message will just be sent but you can't see if it has arrived at the other person. 2 check marks on WhatsApp means that your message has been sent and arrived, the person just hasn't read it yet. You can't indicate this on Discord. 2 blue check marks on WhatsApp mean that your message has been sent, arrived and read. I really like these features on WhatsApp and I really miss them on Discord. The only way to know if the person had read your message, is by a response to it. Also, on WhatsApp groups, this also works and if you select the option "information" while your message is selected, you can actually see the status of your message per person. So if this system could be implemented in Discord DM's, groups and servers I would be very satisfied!

This is great, and maybe have the option to make it optional to see if you want it to show that you read it
