Blocking In New Darkmode Computer/Desktop UI
I haven't seen this mentioned in any of the 'popular' (upvoted) threads bashing on the new UI; but, please, just look at the blocking.

First off; why the 'x'? You can't even delete the messages, and in fact draws attention to them (which is the opposite of why people are blocked).
Similarly, the text is that bright neon blue that's havoc to everybody's eyes and is NOT what people want when they have a blocked person.
Secondly, it changes colour when you open the messages. No, not like the (frankly disgusting) hoverbox, but in a weird blue-shaded dark grey that's just slightly more bluer than the darker colours usually (for example, in the member box).
Thirdly, then the messages inside are highlighted in a darker grey? Why? You've already highlighted it, you don't need highlighting twice.
Personally, I think the blue-grey could be used if it was for blocked members only, or was used in other places that are not highlighting. (EG: The darker background on links with images).
If we would like to be able to see blocked messages, our attention should not be drawn to them. A more subtle, slightly darker non-high-coloured grey could work very well, with the message 'show {blocked members} messages' in a slightly darker colour of the normal text.
The X needs getting rid of.

I want to voice partial disagreement with this - I disagree that the highlighting the messages inside is unnecessary, since that feels important to mark which messages were from the blocked user, but I agree that the x is a bit confusing and I like that this new blocking ui is much less prominent. I'd prefer for blocking to make the blocked user's messages go away entirely during normal usage, and maybe have a button somewhere in settings that temporarily showed the block ui that exists now, for some timer - ie, by default you don't see blocked users' messages, but show a counter of blocked messages, and make it a little inconvenient to show the messages so you don't just habitually display them and let the person get to you again.
