New messages force you to the bottom of the chat.

Basically what the title says. This used to happen before as well, but it stopped when you scrolled past a certain point. Now it seems as though, regardless of where I am in chat, new messages will force me to the bottom. This gets really annoying when I want to read an earlier message in an active channel, and I wish it was either reverted to how it was before or removed entirely. I don't see why it needs to be there when the "New Message" indicator exists and clicking on it already scrolls to the bottom.

  It keeps saying I have a new message even when i'm in the chat talking unlike it did before, and it also keeps saying that my own message is new..? what the-
