Multiple Discord Accounts
Let's say I have two discord accounts. One for work purposes and one for gaming purposes. How about instead of having to logout of one account and re-login to the other, Discord adds a feature where we can be logged into more than one account, and switch between them?

After you add another account, it would look like this
Fig. 2 "Add Account" has been replaced with "Switch Account"
Once you click "Add Account", it takes you to the regular login screen, but with a cancel option. Then once logged in, clicking "Switch Account" will take you to a list of all your accounts.
Fig. 3 Shows all your accounts, and the option to switch and/or logout. Could include a "Log Out of All" button.

We still desperately need this. My friends and I have been forced to move to alternative programs that provide this necessary feature, even though otherwise they are inferior. We would come back in a second if you would just implement this one thing. It's literally our one and only issue with the entire program, but it's a gamebreaking one.

Now that discord being used more not just for gaming by more people, this should be implemented already, but well it's been a year they seem don't care. :sad:

I really want this idea implemented, but not in the way shown in the concept, currently as other people mentioned, there are programs that allow the use of multiple accounts, the form I currently use is (account in browser / account in app) ALT + Tab to switch between TWO windows, ideally it would be in one app and not as presented (an account switcher) of course this option would be useful if you use 'OR' one 'OR' the other, but think about who uses the TWO ACCOUNTS AT THE SAME TIME? it would be better if the servers were grouped into folders under their respective accounts, so the Switcher would not be needed

Amari This is a feedback/suggestion forum for us to communicate feature requests to the Discord developers, not a "feature spotlight" forum. The OP provided an example "mock-up" they created of how they imagine the feature being implemented, but this feature does not yet exist in the Discord client.
If you are interested in seeing this feature added to future updates/releases of the Discord client, please upvote the OP - along with any other posts in the thread with helpful information - to help get the suggestion closer to the top of the developers' list.

As Discord tries to reach more audiences, such a feature is really essential. I have an account I use for work and another one that is for other stuff and I need to be able to switch between them. Right now I have it set up so one loads in the browser and another in the desktop app, but it would be nice if I could simply choose which account to use for each server rather than at the app level.

I would like to bump this idea. I really don’t want to mix my online and “real life” interactions, but multiple times people have made discord groups that i didnt join because i couldn’t use different account.
Please add this feature!!!

If DIscord is to take the next step in it's lifecycle and begin to appeal for more business applications insteado f just gaming this kind of feature is a must. I don't want 'XxX420SniperDude69' messaging me during a business thing.

PLEASE add this. I really wish I could have access to both a professional account and a personal account, it would be awesome. I really don't understand why you couldn't, it's not like it would be bad for anyone. But yeah, please add this :)3 -

Nothing to really add to this other than think would be a great new feature. I have a workplace discord and also a personal discord. It would be great if I had a way to switch between the accounts.

This would be a really helpful feature. Both mobile and desktop version support would be awesome. Twitter has such a feature where you can switch between accounts. Maybe a parallel-like option where you can be logged in to both accounts simultaneously would be even better.

I suggested this more than a year ago to no avail. Now more than ever with discord switching gears to address a broader, more professional audience, this feature is absolutely essential for those of us who use discord for gaming as well as professional environments.
No excuses Discord! We gotta get moving on this!

I've been using Discord for 5 odd years now with our gaming guilds, and as a member of our PTA I was planning to recommend it as a platform for keeping our PTA members organised and informed, however I share the same issue as so many others on here - I need to keep my PTA account separate from my gamer account.
I mean, I use a gamer tag as a user name for the game which wouldn't make any sense for the PTA (in which I would use my real name/photo instead).
Until a dual/multiple-account option is added, users are always going to have to chose to use Discord for one activity or another instead of adopting it for BOTH. This hurts Discord's potential for growth quite significantly.
Facebook and YouTube have already managed this kind of multiple account functionality very effectively on their platforms, so Discord should take a leaf out of their books.
Please add the functionality for multiple accounts so we can use your platform more fully!

One of my jobs recently was looking for remote work solution. Discord was considered, and rejected for this and only this reason, after, in an experimental session, one of our techs was interrupted while streaming by multiple pings from various gaming servers she is a member of. Without the ability to segment our online presence, this software is simply impossible to utilize for more than one use case at a time. You can use it for business OR for gaming OR for Development... but it simply cannot be use for multiple things at once as it can only be used for ALL things at once. It was finally dropped from consideration at the request of employees, who did not wish to have to leave all their gaming and friend-group servers so that the company could use it for work without the risk of interruptions. Without this feature, your own users are actively campaigning against using your software in business environments.

Yes please I would appreciate this feature a ton. I'm already paying for nitro across two different accounts to keep my work life and my personal life separated but it's kind of pain to switch between them when I need to. Up until now I've just been keeping them on entirely separate PCs

Yes yes and more yes! PLEASE make this a thing! I found that this thread was 2 years old and got excited thinking "surely this has been added by now". I was so disappointed to find it's still not a part of the platform!

Yes we need this feature please! I want to use discord for community in my business and as a gamer under my gamer tag. Let us switch accounts on mobile easier please!!
