Concrete suggestions about the new mobile UI with the tabs

I find all the sliding animations in the new mobile UI, with the tabs, to be very distracting. I don't hate the ideas per se, I just preferred the old method with the drawer sliding in the only animation, instead of two different moving things (the chat sliding to the right and the tab bar up from the bottom). With the new update, one action causes two things to move, which not only is jarring but also physically unintuitive. I also believe moving the chat and the tab bar puts the focus on the wrong thing: instead of drawing focus to the sidebar that's coming into view, it draws focus to the chat that's going out of view.

What I suggest would be a toggle switch somewhere in the settings labeled something like "Reduce animation", which would result in the sidebar and tab bar just being open without animations.
