A Discord Marketplace
Seeing how Discord is no longer focused on being a gaming community and is more set on being a place for communities of all sorts to gather, I thought of something that may bring more people onto the platform. A digital marketplace of sorts. People would be able to purchase digital items on it, similar to the nitro game store that was out a few years ago. The difference is that there would be stores in individual servers instead of a general tap on the app. Store ideas could include things such as server designers, printables (study guides, planners, etc), server roles, and any other digital service or product that is traditionally harder to sell on websites such as eBay or Etsy because of the fact that digital products are usually priced lower and Etsy specifically takes a large chunk out of any profit you make. It would allow you to not only have a community with your customers but also be able to sell your product/service without having to go to third-party websites. There isn't a platform quite like discord in terms of servers, being able to connect with a group that shares interests with you, etc. A marketplace would compliment this perfectly. Discord could charge a monthly fee of $5 or $10 dollars (just like nitro) for the seller to be able to list their products, set up a store in their server(s), and be able to take payments from whoever would like to buy their product or service. This marketplace would be especially helpful to the many study servers out there that spend their time making printable study guides, planners, habit trackers, etc. but have nowhere to sell them without having to raise their prices so that there's even a little profit made. There could be a verification process that, upon passing gave you a badge on your discord profile (just like the one you get for nitro) so that people know who is a trusted seller. I know it's a long read, but I think its something worth looking into.
