Game Activity displayed despite being turned off

So I recently discovered that to prevent others from seeing what I'm doing, Game Activity needs to be toggled off. Simple enough, right? Well, I also saw that if I shared my screen in a call, it would be displayed on my profile as if it was my custom status! The only solution I found to this is to have a custom status which is set to not disappear. Does the screenshare status only appear to people in a similar server? I swear I remember seeing it for a friend in a regular call as well though. Is this simply an overlooked feature, or is it intentional?
