Portal as default entry point

I am finding the portal setup diffulcult to add as a deafault entry point for the server (with guest as the entry level role with no access bar reading the welcome info).

I wish there was a one step option that allows on to set sets that entry role (permission as guest) ,  not 'everyone' as the default entry.

For some reason it just seems SO convoluted to set it up later when the server has gotten larger.
