In-app camera usability needs to be improved

I really, really want to use discord instead of WhatsApp for my studies, but the inability to quickly make a picture because of the horrific layout that for some reason only shows one-third of the screen makes it really hard to switch. It is just inconvenient to use, and sending a picture from your own gallery is also impossible because of the 8MB limit, for some reason, there is not yet some kind of compressing feature that reduces quality to fit this 8MB limit.

I would really suggest looking at how other apps handle cameras, like the system that WhatsApp uses is super nice to use. I am really looking forward to seeing some changes soon.
