TTS Voice option
Discord had an update today in which it removed users option to choose the voice reading our notifications via Text-to-speech. Previously, all you had to do was change your control panel Text-to-speech voice and restart discord and the voice would update to your chosen voice. Well, since todays update that is no longer an option. I've already found a post on reddit discord of another user who is also distressed about this change, because a lot of us that use the TTS option have disabilities and impairments in which we have no other choice but to use tts to communicate with others. The mute community use it to help identify themselves via tts (and prefer to use certain voices for tts to help identify themselves), people like me have aversions to certain sounds but also need help processing text via listening to it. Listening to it being said is hard when the one voice that is now our only option is grating to listen to, and im sure there are others out there who also would prefer the option to choose the voice they have to listen to so that they can continue using discord.
I did contact discord support about the change and the TLDR they gave me in the message was to make noise about it here in feedback, and see if others can do the same, as they have no plans on adding the option back to choose voice used for the tts system.

It seems to me that generally the official attitude is we are doing it wrong, so have to come here to complain, rather than them just fix it.3 -
Yeah, I came across that thread before I posted as well. Seems we just need to continue making noise about it and hope for the best. The fact they finally let us choose the speed of the tts voice was a good step forward, but removing the option to let us use windows speech settings to set the voice now is just a sad back step. Im hoping that in all of us making noise, we can maybe get an actual in app setting where we can change the voice there and then not have to all worry about which windows setting is being pulled for the voice. I wouldnt even mind if they did like a basic male/female option and then for nitro let us choose from more voices if it means we get those options back and in an easier way.

why can't it be tied to windows settings or at least given the option to choose a voice and gender of the voice? the current voice may be fine for some but it's not very pleasing to me and others on my server.

Same problem, submitted a ticket, its apparently a known problem since they did the tts speed option, but there's no rush on fixing it. Got advised to put it in feedback, but found your feedback here already, so upvoting it to bring focus. Please fix it so at the very least it'll use the windows voice again, instead of this default bad quality one. I invested in an ivona voice especially for this purpose.
