Copying and pasting messages

for the longest time, it has been possible to quickly and easily copy text on mobile for just about any message sent by anyone in full, with all the italics and bolding. However, on a computer, the only option you have for copying text is either going into edit mode on your own texts and doing ctrl+a to ctrl+c, or highlighting someone else's text and then manually implementing things like italics yourself. Mobile doesn't have this issue, why should desktop?
