Tall (Long) image display / accessibility
Every now and then I am confronted with a very tall image file. The last one was somewhere around 500 pixels wide by over 3000 pixels tall. If I click on the image in the channel it was posted to be able to more easily read the text or just see it more clearly the current implementation is lacking.
Normally, clicking on an image works just fine if the proportions are reasonably sized and the resolution isn't too crazy. For tall images it doesn't work at all because the image is still constrained by keeping the height of the now slightly zoomed in picture within the top and bottom of the desktop client's window. So basically, it is tall enough to not gain any real benefit from that initial click, and a user is forced to then use the "open original" function every time they encounter one of these disproportionately tall images, which opens a new internet browser window and loads the image into it. The need to use a third party program like a web browser to display a simple image file is an issue of accessibility as well as security. It is easy to hide malicious code in an image file. The perfect carrier of this kind of code is one that, because of its long dimensions, will have to be clicked and fully opened in a browser by every user who wants to view it. If I was a producer of malicious code I would be using these tall image files to disseminate and test my work, because everyone would have to click on them and load them in whatever their default browser is. While Discord is pretty good about forcing security updates on users, web browsers are not.
What I propose is that after clicking once on an image and bringing up the slightly zoomed image on a screen that currently has the "open original" function on it, there should be the ability to left click onto that same picture a second time on that now greyed out background screen if the first level of zoom wasn't enough. Doing this should then cause the image to be rendered at the full scale inside that same greyed out area with the "open original" function on the bottom, and users could use their middle mouse button to pan around inside the thing to view it.
Additionally, it would be good to give users the ability to use ctrl+mousewheel to zoom in further on that greyed out screen that currently only gives an option to "open original". In this way a user could either just click a second time to get the full size as described above, or if they just need a little more zoom but not full resolution then they could ctrl+wheel to get it where they need it.

I second this, definitely would help so much!
