Please Integrate More NFTs
Hey guys, great work on the new crypto and NFT integrations. I'm excited for the next step and can't wait to buy at least 10 Nitros for others as soon as it comes out to the public.

I fully agree. I've been paying for Nitro every month for the past year and will absolutely continue to do so if Discord adds Crypto and NFT integration.

For every (1) Nitro subscription you'll lose because of this decision...
...you'll gain (5) more from the NFT/Crypto space.
Wise choice.-49 -
I added today few more Nitro+, I am around 18 now. I don't mind to add 50-100 more, for 5 years if I would be able to login with metamask in my discord, and verify NFT collection with my wallet.

hey folks that like nfts: Their perposed benefits were not using physical materials (plastic, paper) to make physical art, but did you know that the crypto you used to pay for it is doing more harm to the environment than physical art ever has? It's true, data mining that supports crypto uses as much electricity as the united states produces in clean energy ever year, which means that instead of reducing emissions, emissions must remain the same (aka, the same amount of coal and natural gas) is burned to meet the energy demands of data mining. Just commission an IRL artist, it'll be more worth your while. Most of them will send you a high-def jpeg of the image/print as well, which is functionally the same as an NFT, considering BOTH can be right-clicked and re-posted. Aka, art theft, something ACTUAL creators have been dealing with for years, which is ACTUALLY money out of their pockets. (if you don't know what I'm talking about, just google "Twitter t-shirt bots", it's one example of a long-standing problem of art theft.)

i guarantee you there are thousands more upset people cancelling nitro than ALL the nitro subscriptions yall cryptoclowns can buy. even if you dont lose profit initially, you WILL be losing the majority of your userbase. which is what keeps yall not only afloat, but also relevant. the majority of the discord userbase will not hesitate to drop discord like last week’s meme and move on to the next app. dont play.

Are you George Soros trolling bots or Warren Buffett?

With the amount of money your community loses to scammers on a regular basis, there's not even the slightest chance you would be able to make up for even a fraction of the lost subscriptions. Of course, there's also the fact that the IRS will be forcing you all to pay taxes on the absurd value you claim your tokens to have. Good luck handling subscription fees while being under federal investigation.

Some of us don't live in the United States, so the IRS is not going to be on our case. Second, we're probably the largest contributors to Nitro on the platform.
I'd bet a large wager that this is exactly why this integration was considered in the first place--we contribute more to their platform than any other niche, likely because we have the means and the willingness to pay and gift Nitro on a more consistent basis.
If anything, Discord is growing and over half the people that say they'll cancel their Nitro likely won't due to laziness or sheer lack of actually caring outside of the public face they put on on Twitter.
Instead of wasting energy and time whining about Discord's integrations with crypto and NFTs, I recommend hunting down the 100 companies that contribute 71% of the global emissions, including the beef and tech industries that consistently burn thousands of times more resources than NFTs ever will.
