Discord freezing for a few seconds when I click on voice and video settings

my first post but I couldn't find anyone with the same problem.

Basically, my problem is that whenever I would click on voice and video in my discord settings, my discord would freeze for a few seconds, and then it will return back to normal.

I have hardware acceleration turned off.
I also checked if my discord would freeze on other settings, but from the looks of it, my discord is only freezing for a few seconds when I click on voice and video.

also tell me if I posted on the wrong topic since this is my first post

Edit: so I found out what was causing it. It turns out that the video background setting in voice and video was causing voice and video specificly to freeze. I had a background on, and out of confusion, I just selected no video background. I then noticed that when I did that, the problem just went away. I'm guessing this is because the background had to load.
