Free nitro from steam (scam?)

So two of my discord friends gave me a direct msg that has a link to "https://discordnitro.me/nitro" and they both say i can get free nitro from steam. One of them redirected to "https://claim.nitro.gives" which asked me to scan a QR code to log in. I made an alt account to test if this is a scam (which it is very likely to be) and nothing happened... I didn't get free nitro and my alt account isnt hacked. The other one lead me to "https://discordbeta.com/articles/2021/free-nitro/" (footer links actually go to official sites) where it downloaded a file for "DiscordBeta.exe" which was blocked by Windows Defender saying it is unsafe. Is this a scam or something?

Probably this is a scam. Because there are no news from Steam or Discord about free nitro from Steam.

I think your friends got a scammed / hacked account.

If you want a free discord nitro, go to some Giveaways server or if you dont have anytime before discord nitro, i have one code (promotions) to have a 3 months of discord nitro but you need to own a Credit/Debit Card or Paypal
