Matrix support

Lots of people use Discord for chatting and communicating with other people. Of course, it's not hard to end up with 5 or more different messaging and video calling apps on your phone or multiple accounts.

Thankfully there is a solution in the matrix protocol, which allows for decentralised communication between different users on different accounts. Think of Star Trek, where there are lots of different planets and platforms, that can interact with one another.

Having Discord using the matrix protocol would open up new possibilities like never before. Imagine if users never needed to leave Discord to chat with someone over Element or if facebook embraced matrix, you could have a Facebook user chatting with someone here on discord. It would keep users' messaging consistent, clear and in one place.

Many open projects such as rocket.chat Minds, nextcloud and more support the Matrix protocol. It would be awesome for Discord to support the protocol and will lead to more users supporting Discord and signing up.

It is "logical" considering the internet is meant to be an open place.
