Now you can. For a limited time, Nitro subscribers can share up to three 2-week trials of Nitro with others! Sharing Nitro with your friends can be a fun way to discover how they might style their profile and which custom emojis become their favorite to use in y’alls daily conversations.
Oh, and it just so happens we dropped some new Nitro releases like Avatar Decorations, Super Reactions, and customizing the appearance and theme of your Discord app. Now couldn’t be a better time to get your friends who’ve never experienced Nitro before to join in on the fun with you! HOW TO SHARE A NITRO TRIAL WITH YOUR FRIENDS
Only Nitro subscribers are eligible to share Nitro trials. Nitro Basic subscribers and users on a Nitro trial subscribers are not eligible to share Nitro trials.
As a Nitro subscriber, follow these steps:
1. Open a direct message (DM) with the person you want to share a Nitro trial with on a desktop device. This cannot be in a group DM.
2. Head to your chatbox and press the new Nitro icon to proceed with sharing a trial.
This icon will only appear if the recipient is eligible to receive a trial from you.
3. The recipient will see a confirmation message letting them know they can redeem your gifted trial. Like all free trials we offer, a payment method must be entered by the recipient to redeem and begin the trial.
Note: You can share a total of 3 Nitro trials with others. A trial expires if not redeemed by the recipient in 48 hours, but you’ll get refunded the trial back. You have until June 15th to share your trials, so share them soon to spread the fun!
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE A NITRO TRIAL FROM ME?
Users who have not had an active Nitro subscription on their Discord accounts in the past 12 months are eligible to receive a trial from you.
So if you do not see your ‘share a Nitro trial’ icon, it means the person you’re trying to share a trial with is ineligible for one of these reasons:
- They already have Nitro
- They’ve already received or redeemed a Nitro trial in the last 12 months
RECEIVING A NITRO TRIAL FROM SOMEONE
If someone generously shares a Nitro trial with you, you’ll see the trial in the form of an embedded message in your DMs with the sharer. You’ll have up to 48 hours to redeem the trial before it expires.
To redeem your free 2-week trial:
1. Make sure the offer is authentic
- Confirm the sharer is a Nitro subscriber - only Nitro subscribers can share trials with you
- Confirm the trial offer from the sharer looks like this in your DMs with them:

3. Enter billing information
You will not be charged before or during your 2-week trial. If you don’t cancel during your 2-week trial, you will automatically be charged $9.99/month after your trial ends. Cancel anytime during your trial to avoid being charged after your trial period in User Settings > Subscriptions.
4. Start having fun with your free 2 weeks of Nitro!

Q: As a Nitro subscriber, who can I share Nitro trials with?
A: You can share Nitro trials with anyone through your direct messages (DMs) as long as they are eligible to redeem a trial. We recommend starting with your friends!
Q: I just subscribed to Nitro but don’t seem to be able to share Nitro trials with others - why?
A: You must have been a Nitro subscriber for at least 5 days to immediately be able to share Nitro trials with others.
If you’re just now subscribing, you’ll be able to share Nitro trials with others after 5 days.
If you’re a Nitro Basic subscriber, upgrade to the full Nitro plan to share trials of Nitro with your friends. If you’re on a Nitro trial subscription currently, you are not eligible to share Nitro trials with others.
Q: How long will this be available?
A: Nitro subscribers will be able to share Nitro trials until June 15th, 2023. New subscribers should subscribe by June 9th, 2023, to share Nitro trials with others after accounting for the 5 day waiting period.
Q: What happens if I share all 3 of my trials before June 15th?
A: The ‘Share Nitro trial’ icon will disappear from your chatbox and you should give yourself a well-deserved pat on the back for blessing 3 other friends, strangers, or friendly strangers with a fun Nitro experience!
Q: As a Nitro subscriber, do my trial gifts expire?
A: Yes, you have until June 15th, 2023 to share your three trial gifts before they expire.
Q: As a trial recipient, will I be charged for redeeming a gifted trial?
A: You will not be charged for redeeming a gifted trial. Redeeming a free trial simply requires that you enter a payment method to begin the free trial.

A: Nitro subscribers can only share a Nitro trial on a desktop device.
Q: What happens if someone doesn’t redeem the Nitro trial I shared with them?
A: Recipients have up to 48 hours to redeem your Nitro trial. If your recipient doesn’t redeem your Nitro trial by that time, the trial credit will be refunded back to you.
Q: How will I know if the trial I’m receiving is legit/not a scam?
A: If someone is sharing a Nitro trial with you, it must appear as such in your direct messages with them:
