Starting from July 2, 2024 (10:00am PST) to August 31, 2024 (11:59pm PST), free Duolingo learners can claim 1 month of Discord Nitro. Learn below about how you can claim Discord Nitro.

Who is Eligible: Users who have had an active Nitro membership or Nitro trial in the last 12 months are not eligible to redeem this Nitro promotion.

Users who have had a Discord Nitro membership at any point on their accounts and have had a Nitro Classic or Nitro Basic membership in the past 12 months are ineligible to redeem this promotion.

If a user has had a Nitro Basic, Nitro Classic, or Server Boosting membership active on their account and they’ve never had a Nitro membership, redeeming this promotion will override that membership.

We will not be able to refund any leftover membership time from those, and the user will be forfeiting the remainder of the existing membership when activating the 1 month Nitro trial.

Users who have already claimed a gift from this promotion are not eligible to claim further gifts from this promotion.

Free Duolingo learners in the United States, who are learning from English, are eligible to receive a Partner Offer card containing their unique 1 month trial of Discord Nitro. Requirements: Claim through the Duolingo iOS or Android mobile app by July 2, 2024 (10:00am PST), and redeem in your Discord account by September 30, 2024 (11:59pm PST).

Membership: After the 1 month trial period, your Nitro membership will convert to a monthly recurring membership, and Discord will bill your payment method for per month until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time in your Discord User Settings.

How do I claim the Nitro Promo from my Free Duolingo account?

NOTE: This promotion is only available to free Duolingo learners in the United States, who are learning from English to another language.

In order to claim this Nitro promo, you must have an active, free Duolingo account and be learning from English to one of the 30+ languages available in the US. 

If you are eligible for this promotion, you will be presented with a Partner Offer card once you have completed a lesson on your learning path.

How do I redeem the Nitro Trial on my Discord Account?

Once you have claimed the promo, you'll now need to officially redeem this promo on your Discord account. You must redeem this Nitro trial by September 30, 2024 (11:59pm PST).

Eligibility for Redeeming the Nitro Trial

Free Duolingo learners in the United States, who are learning from English, are eligible for this promotion.

Step by Step Redeem Instructions

If you're eligible and ready to redeem this Nitro membership on your own Discord account, you can follow these steps below to redeem the promo.

Step 1 - Claim your code via Duolingo’s Partner Offer Card

  • Be sure to claim the Discord Nitro promo from the Duolingo Partner Offer card. You can find steps on how to claim this promo here. 

NOTE:
- Before redeeming Nitro, make sure you are logged in your own Discord account.
- If you accidentally redeemed the Nitro promo on an account that is not yours, we are unable to provide you with another promo.

Step 2 - Logging into Discord

  •  Once you have claimed your code, navigate to Discord. If you're not already logged into Discord in your browser, you will then be automatically redirected to either:

Register for a New Account

If you don't have an account, you can directly register a new Discord account

Login to your Account

If you already have a Discord account, you can login to your account using your email and password or using QR code login

Step 3 - Claiming your promotion gift

Once you have logged in to your Discord account, you will see a message asking you to claim your promotion gift. 

The account you are currently logged in as will receive this gift. This gift cannot be shared with a friend and once claimed, the gift cannot be switched to a different user, so be sure you are on the account you want to claim the gift for. If you want to change to a different account, press on the Switch Accounts.

Press on Next when you’re ready to redeem your gift on your chosen account.

Step 4 - Redeeming your promotion gift

Review the details of the promotion then press on Next. Please note: if you switch to a different account at this step, you will not be able to claim and redeem the promotion on the account you switched to. 

Make sure your payment information is accurate. If your Discord account does not have your payment information, please fill out your payment details. You will not be charged until the trial ends and the membership renews.

When you've filled out all the necessary information and you're ready to redeem this promotion, press the confirmation button.

Step 5 - Membership Now Activated

After accepting the promo to your account, you'll now be automatically redirected to your Subscriptions tab in your User Settings to see your newly activated Nitro membership on your account.

What if I am an Active Nitro Basic, Nitro Classic, or Server Boosting Member? 

Just to clarify - if you have had a Discord Nitro membership at any point on your account and have had a Nitro Classic or Nitro Basic membership in the past 12 months, you are ineligible to redeem this promotion.

So long as you have had a Nitro Basic, Nitro Classic, or Server Boosting membership active on your account and you’ve never had a Nitro membership, you will be able to redeem this promotion and replace it with the 1 month Nitro membership.

HOWEVER, please note: By choosing to activate this 1 month trial, you will lose any features associated with your current memberships, and **you will not receive a refund for any remaining value on your current membership**.

At the end of the promotion period, you'll be converted to a paying Nitro membership per month unless you cancel your membership.

Q: How long does this promotion run for?

A: Eligible Duolingo users can claim Discord Nitro promo between July 2, 2024 (10:00am PST) to August 31, 2024 (11:59pm PST).

After August 31, 2024 (11:59pm PST), eligible Duolingo users will no longer be able to claim a trial promo.

Payment Info and Membership Questions

Q: Why do I need to submit my payment info to redeem Nitro?

A: Because Nitro is a membership plan, at the end of your 1 month trial, we will start your first billing cycle so you can continue to enjoy Nitro on Discord.

However, you can cancel the Nitro membership at any time before the end of the 1 month.

Q: Why do I see a temporary hold/charge on my account when this is supposed to be a free promotion?

A: Just to clarify, this Nitro promotion is free, however, there will be a temporary hold placed on the payment method upon activating the promotion. This is to help Discord confirm the payment method works as expected and to prevent the use of fraudulent payment methods. This charge will appear in your Discord transaction history, and it may appear as a hold on your payment method.

We immediately reverse the temporary hold, and you’ll see that reflected in your Discord transaction history. Your bank may take longer to remove the hold from your payment method.

NOTE: Banks will usually remove the temporary hold from your account within a few business days.

If your Discord transaction history does not show the hold released after 5 business days, please let us know at https://dis.gd/contact, and our support team will be able to investigate this issue further.

Potential Errors and Other Issues

Q: I see a "Oh no! It looks like you have Nitro already" error when I try to redeem my Nitro promo.

A: If you're seeing an "Oh no! It looks like you have Nitro already" error, that means that the Discord account you're trying to redeem this promotion on currently has a Nitro membership so it is ineligible for this Nitro promotion.

Please make sure you're logged into the account that you want to redeem this promotion on.

Q: I see a "Sorry, looks like you’ve already had a Nitro sub!" error when I try to redeem my Nitro promo.

A: If you're seeing an “Sorry, looks like you’ve already had a Nitro sub” error, that means that you've previously subscribed to Nitro on your Discord account and you won't be able to redeem this 1 month perk.

If you have never subscribed to Nitro, please submit a ticket through our support system: https://dis.gd/contact and our support team will be able to investigate further.

Q: I see a "This gift has already been claimed" error when I try to claim my Nitro promo.

A: If you are seeing a "This gift has been claimed already" error, that means that the Nitro promo has already been used and cannot be used again. You may need to double check if you've claimed this promo on another Discord account.

Unfortunately, once the promo has been claimed, the promo cannot be re-enabled, and the Nitro cannot be transferred from one account to another.

Q: I see a "Wait a Second...Looks like this code didn't work." error when I try to redeem my Nitro promo.

A: If you're seeing an “Wait a Second...Looks like this code didn't work.” error, that means that the promo is invalid.

Please note that our support team is unable to intervene if you are given an invalid promo and we will not be able to provide a new promo.

Q: I see a “Looks like something went wrong” error when I click on “Next”.

A: There are several reasons why you may be seeing this error:

  • You are ineligible for this promotion
  • The promotion is invalid
  • The promotion has reached the maximum number of claims
  • The link is invalid

Q: I see a "Sorry, This Payment Source Cannot Be Used for Redemption" error when trying to redeem my promo!

A: If you're seeing a "Sorry, This Payment Source Cannot Be Used for Redemption" error, that means that the payment method you've selected to cover the temporary $1 hold cannot be used for that purpose. 

Please keep in mind that prepaid payment methods, such as Gcash, cannot be used to cover temporary holds due to the nature of how prepaid payment methods function.

A: If you are seeing a “Looks like this promotion has reached its maximum number of claims” error, that means the maximum limit for claims of this promotion has been reached and this promotion can no longer be claimed. If you have claimed this Nitro promotion, you are still able to redeem it to your Discord account!
