We will not be able to refund any leftover membership time from those, and the user will be forfeiting the remainder of the existing membership when activating the 1 month Nitro trial.

How do I claim the Nitro Promo from Chess.com?

After winning or drawing a game against one of the Discord themed chess bots, you'll see a Nitro Promo modal.

NOTE: To claim the Nitro promotion after completing a match with the Discord chess bot, Chess.com members must be logged into their account.
For mobile users, ensure you're using the latest version of the Chess.com app and are logged into your account. If you still encounter issues, try restarting the app or logging out and back in.

Simply press Claim Nitro, and you will be automatically redirected to Discord to finish redeeming the offer.

How do I redeem the Nitro Trial on my Discord Account?

Once you have claimed the promo, you'll now need to officially redeem this promo on your Discord account. You must redeem this Nitro trial by November 3, 2024 (11:59PM PST).

Eligibility for Redeeming the Nitro Trial

Users who have had an active Nitro membership or Nitro trial in the last 12 months are not eligible to redeem this Nitro promotion.

Step by Step Redeem Instructions

If you're eligible and ready to redeem this Nitro membership on your own Discord account, you can follow these steps below to redeem the promo.

NOTE:
- Before redeeming Nitro, make sure you are logged in your own Discord account.
- If you accidentally redeemed the Nitro promo on an account that is not yours, we are unable to provide you with another promo.

Step 1 - Logging into Discord

If you're not already logged into Discord in your browser, you will then be automatically redirected to either:

Register for a New Account

If you don't have an account, you can directly register a new Discord account

Login to your Account

If you already have a Discord account, you can login to your account using your email and password or using QR code login

Step 2 - Claiming your promotion gift

Once you have logged in to your account, you will see a message asking you to claim your promotion gift.

The account you are currently logged in as will receive this gift. This gift cannot be shared with a friend and once claimed, the gift cannot be switched to a different user, so be sure you are on the account you want to claim the gift for. If you want to change to a different account, press on the Switch Accounts.

Press on Next when you’re ready to redeem your gift on your chosen account.

Step 3 - Redeeming your promotion gift

Step 4 - Membership Now Activated

After accepting the promo to your account, you'll now be automatically redirected to your Subscriptions tab in your User Settings to see your newly activated Nitro membership on your account.

What if I am an Active Nitro Basic, Nitro Classic, or Server Boosting Member?

Just to clarify - if you have had a Discord Nitro membership at any point on your account and have had a Nitro Classic or Nitro Basic membership in the past 12 months, you are ineligible to redeem this promotion.

So long as you have had a Nitro Basic, Nitro Classic, or Server Boosting membership active on your account and you’ve never had a Nitro membership, you will be able to redeem this promotion and replace it with the 1 month Nitro membership.

HOWEVER, please note: By choosing to activate this 1 month trial, you will lose any features associated with your current memberships, and **you will not receive a refund for any remaining value on your current membership**.

At the end of the promotion period, you'll be converted to a paying Nitro membership per month unless you cancel your membership.

A: Because Nitro is a membership plan, at the end of your 1 month trial, we will start your first billing cycle so you can continue to enjoy Nitro on Discord.

However, you can cancel the Nitro membership at any time before the end of the 1 month.

Q: Why do I see a temporary hold/charge on my account when this is supposed to be a free promotion?

A: Just to clarify, this Nitro promotion is free, however, there will be a temporary hold placed on the payment method upon activating the promotion. This is to help Discord confirm the payment method works as expected and to prevent the use of fraudulent payment methods. This charge will appear in your Discord transaction history, and it may appear as a hold on your payment method.

We immediately reverse the temporary hold, and you’ll see that reflected in your Discord transaction history. Your bank may take longer to remove the hold from your payment method.

NOTE: Banks will usually remove the temporary hold from your account within a few business days.

Q: I see a "Sorry, looks like you’ve already had a Nitro sub!" error when I try to redeem my Nitro promo.

A: If you're seeing an “Sorry, looks like you’ve already had a Nitro sub” error, that means that you've previously subscribed to Nitro on your Discord account and you won't be able to redeem this 1 month perk.
