Want to personalize and customize your profile for how it appears to other Discord members? If so, follow these instructions below! 

How to Change Your Avatar

Step 1: Go into your User Settings by clicking the Cog/Gear Icon (⚙︎) at the bottom-left part of the app

Step 2: Navigate to the User Profile tab

Step 3: Press either Change Avatar button

How to Change Your Username

Step 1: Like changing your avatar, you'll need to first go into your User Settings by clicking the Cog/Gear Icon (⚙︎)!

Step 2: While you're in the My Account tab, click the "Edit" button!

Step 3: At this step, you'll need to: 

  1. Edit the username within the "Username" section
  2. Type in your password into the "Current Password" section

Note: Usernames are case-sensitive (which means capitalization of letters matter)!
For example: cat#1234 and CAT#1234 are two different usernames for two different accounts! 

 

Step 4: Once you've pressed "Save", you'll see your new username in your profile!

Why do I see an error?

  • "Too many users have this username" Error

Note: One option is to capitalize/un-capitalize a letter within your username (because usernames are case sensitive.

  • "You are changing your avatar/Username/Discord Tag too fast" Error

Currently, our systems will only let you change your username two times per hour! Unfortunately there is no way to bypass this requirement and you will need to wait the full time period before trying to change your new avatar/Username/Discord Tag!

Note: Before you officially press "Save", you can double check your icon/username in the preview and see what it will look like before confirming the change.

Can I change the 4 digits/numbers? 

If you'd like to change the 4 digits/numbers after the username, you'll need to be a subscriber to Nitro or Nitro Classic to customize those numbers!
