Active Call

If there is an active call in a group DM that I'm a part of, even if I'm not in that call, it still takes up over half of my screen in compact mode, on a very large screen. This is extremely annoying when many messages are being sent, and it's hard to keep up with. Is there a way to banish this massive banner to a little icon somewhere on the screem?
