Discord News feed and more
There should be a news feed on Discord where members can see their joined server's announcement channel's news/announcements by scrolling up/down, just like other social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc.). Discord might need to change its interface to set up the news feed properly. If members don't want to see news from a certain announcement channel, they can unfollow it from the news feed (with options "unfollow all news channels for news feed from this server" or "unfollow only this channel for news feed from this server") and directly from that server and the channel as well. However, after joining the server all announcement channels of that server should be followed automatically and can be unfollowed manually by going through channels and by one tap from server settings with an option "unfollow all announcement channels for news feed from this server." Members can also leave that server to unfollow/stop seeing news from announcement channels from that server. To see news of an announcement channel of a server, members have to be a member of that server.
There should be some default reactions (like, love, cry) and ways of interaction (e.g. comments) in that news feed's post. Comments would be visible under a thread created automatically under the announcement message of the announcement channel. Apart from the news feed, members should also be able to comment/react/ from the server's announcement channels. I meant there should be a sync.
This news feed can also be expanded by allowing making posts from user profile to public or friends or specific friends.
There can also be a story option, which can be uploaded from/as servers and profiles.
This will make Discord a social media, not just a community platform. Besides operating on other social media platforms, many brands will be interested in opening Discord servers for their brand to promote them and their news & announcements on this platform too and it will eventually increase Discord users and engagements.

" This will make Discord a social media, not just a community platform. " Yes I agreed it would look really cool if it was done like this.

This is already implemented in the home channel in a server but exploring more the idea would be cool

Adding more, Facebook recently introduced chat options to their Facebook groups; pinned message and adding bot feature to their chats etc. I have participated in one of their surveys by Facebook Messenger where they collected their user's feedback on Discord's community features (automod, manual moderation with bot, chat and voice channel feature etc.) and they seem are working closely to compete with Discord to be a strong "community platform" too besides being a vast social media platform. For this, they have already started working to improve their Facebook group, make a sync between Facebook group and Messenger/Facebook chats etc by introducing several community features.
Facebook is already an established social media, used by billions. Now if they start focusing on community side, and get successful to make a sync between them, it will be an alarming situation for Discord as a community platform and its communities. If Discord does not improve their platform and expand to social media, users would move to Facebook since they are getting both opportunity: a vast social media and a community from them.1 -
Highly encourage an Announcements-driven feed for all your servers. Possibly with an algorithm that punished spammy servers (even as an option).
Not that I need more advertising in my life, but if it helps Discord financially make ends meet, this is probably the least intrusive place to add them.

"This will make Discord a social media, not just a community platform." I think it would be awesome if it were done like that.

The idea of having a news feed on Discord to see notifications from server announcement channels is a big step forward for the platform. It’s a way to increase interactivity and community within Discord, allowing members to easily follow the latest news from the servers they’re in without having to dig into each channel. Features like unfollowing channels and directly interacting with posts also help users have a seamless social media experience on Discord. 1v1 lol
