MP4s not downloading correctly on Android 12
-
Can confirm, this happens on my Android 12 device as well. Sometimes the Android Client will also download GIFs as MP4s, which is strange.
Guessing that OP is also on the latest Stable release of the Android Client, which is App version 158.16. Can you confirm this, OP?

There are several reasons that you need to check once. The video could not be downloaded properly from its source. The header of the video file could be missing or corrupted. There can be issues with the syncing of its video or audio component. The file might not be compatible with your Android phone or the media player you are using. Chances are that the SD card where your video has been stored could be corrupted as well. If the video has been shot on your phone, then some changes in its settings or encoding could have made the video unsupported. Check once with this steps may be this will work.

If MP4s are not downloading correctly on Android 12, there are a few things that you can try to resolve the issue:
-
Check for software updates: Make sure that your device is running the latest version of Android 12, as well as any available updates for the apps you are using to download the MP4s.
-
Check your internet connection: A weak or unstable internet connection can cause issues with downloading files. Make sure that you have a strong and stable connection when trying to download the MP4s.
-
Check the storage space on your device: Make sure that there is enough storage space on your device to complete the download. If your device is running low on storage, try clearing some space or moving the download to an external storage device.
-
Try a different browser: If you're trying to download the MP4s using a browser and it's not working, try using a different browser to see if that resolves the issue.
-
Check the file format: Make sure that the MP4s you're trying to download are in the correct format for your device. If the file format is not supported, you may have trouble playing or viewing the MP4s.
-
Try a different download manager app : There are a lot of download manager app available on play store. Try one of them, they may help you in solving the issue.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be a problem with the specific MP4 files you're trying to download, or with the device or app you're using to download them. You may want to contact the developer of the app you're using for help, or try downloading the MP4s on a different device.

Thanks for the boilerplate, I've already been through all that with Discord's support team. Updated everything, cleared everything, reinstalled everything, even used the alpha and beta versions to see if it had been patched.
This is a problem with Discord. Almost every video I try to download off it serves a broken file, and what's more, GIFs download as mp4s. Something about the way downloads work is broken.

There are several factors to consider when encountering difficulties with downloading a video. These potential issues include:
Download Interruption: The video might not have been downloaded completely from its source, leading to problems in playing it back.
Corrupted Header: If the header of the video file is missing or corrupted, this could also result in playback problems.
Syncing Problems: Issues could arise from a lack of synchronization between the video and audio components of the file.
Compatibility Concerns: The video file may not be compatible with your Android phone or the media player you are using, causing playback issues.
Corrupted Storage: If the video is stored on an SD card, it's possible that the card itself has become corrupted, affecting the video's accessibility.
Encoding or Settings Changes: Videos shot on your phone might become unsupported due to changes in settings or encoding.
By carefully considering these factors and troubleshooting accordingly, you may be able to resolve the issue and successfully play the video. You also try more websites for sources.

It sounds like there might be an issue with the way the MP4 files are being downloaded on your phone through PikaShow. Have you tried downloading the videos using a different browser or app? Sometimes, using a different download method can help resolve these types of issues. Alternatively, you could try using a different video player on your phone to see if that helps with playback.
