One thing I see in other messages (Teams for instance) is the ability to mark  someone on  your  list as "Priority" so you get notifications for them regardless of your status. I note too that if you enabled Discord to use Priority on Android you could safely set your phone to DND knowing those contacts you ARE okay with interrupting are able to
