This'll make timeouts far more versatile and practical, and certainly encourage uptake

Hopefully Discord can manage to take a look at this neat suggestion :p

Seeing more flexibility with the timeout feature would be great, totally agree

More flexible options with timeout abilities would be greatly appreciated. Though there are several ways to expand usage besides the use of the timeout feature, such as role/permission modifications, server administrators/moderators alike should have the open ability to moderation abilities for their server, whether it's through the use of a bot or built-in support.

I've tested out a few techniques with muting members by granting them a "muted" role, adding their user ID to a database then referring back to it/removing it, but having to do this instead can prove to be a tedious task; especially if your bot's memory/database storage has exceeded, or the bot has gone down (Which in turn would mean that you'd have to implement a feature to run through all muted members, check when they were muted via storage fetching, then unmute if their duration has expired, which is tedious IMO when a feature could easily be implemented to ease the practice)

It can be hard to find out who's currently timed out and how much time is remaining. This is especially a challenge in larger servers with over a thousand members. A good way of being able to properly manage your timed out users would be by being able to see timed out members in a list, like the list of banned members in a server.

I'm 100% for this. As a moderator for a server with over 900k+ members, it'd be extremely helpful to see a feature of this kind, and it's irregular that it wasn't implemented when the timeout API was introduced.

Discord alone has supplied servers with many moderation techniques and abilities to take care of their servers, but there is more that could be added.

    I 100% support this.

This would make timeouts so much better.

It's much easier to use timeouts rather than having to deal with the hassle of making sure the roles are configured properly for each channel + all the other complications Rykie mentioned above.

But, as mentioned in the original post, the timeout feature's limited functionality is preventing us from switching over.

As a Moderator for a server with nearly 1 Million members, it would be amazing if the suggestions in the main post were to be added to the timeouts feature. It would be very nice to see the functionality of timeouts to be expanded.

Please take this into consideration Discord.

    100% in support of this.

With timeouts being a thing, it is incredibly annoying still having to use a 'muted' role if your server is using a ticket bot.
Why can we not get permissions for people that are timed out, it is such a hassle to deal with currently.
