My account has been falsely disabled for being underage..

Hello,

this morning I was met with a lovely email from Discord, notifying that my account had been disabled for violating the terms of service! Oh no, what rule had I broken? 
I opened up the email and to my surprise, I was banned for indicating that I'm under the age of 13. 

I read through the email and followed the steps, I took a selfie of myself holding up a piece of paper with my Discord username (with the 4 numbers on the end) and my school ID, containing a picture of myself and my date of birth and then submitted a request with the image attached. Its been just short of 12 hours and Discord still hasn't gotten back to me yet, except for a confirmation email which I replied to.

It's also really strange, because I'm a moderator at a big server (15K+ members), and lots of other moderators and staff of that Discord server has had their accounts disabled for being underaged too within the last few days (they have all sent an appeal, only 2 had been reinstated). 

I am honestly panicking right now, I had nitro and so much memories over the last 3-4 years on that account. Usually Discord doesn't take that long to reply to my requests, so now I'm worried if Discord recieved my appeal or they if they've had the chance to go through it yet. If anyone here has had to go through a similar problem like mine, please tell me what to expect and such. If there could be an explaination as to why my collegues had their accounts disabled as well, that would be great too.

 

UPDATE: My account has been reinstated on the 20th of April.

    Discord will not help you, the have no support structure outside of scripted automated responses. There is no Tech Support from Discord at all, here is what they will say 'you will have to create a new Discord and submit a request to delete the old one', what they are tying to do is show false growth figures to potential investors and sponsors. Discord is not in the business of support, more so scamming people with micro-transactions for basics that once came with the software at launch

    I'm sorry to hear that your Discord account was disabled. It sounds like you've taken the appropriate steps to appeal the decision by providing proof of your age. It can take some time for Discord to review appeals, so it's possible that they haven't had a chance to review your case yet.

    As for why other moderators and staff on your server have also had their accounts disabled for being underage, it's difficult to say without more information. It could be a coincidence or there could be some other reason.

    I suggest waiting for a response from Discord and following up with them if you don't hear back within a reasonable amount of time. In the meantime, try not to worry too much. I understand that it can be frustrating, but these things can take time to resolve.

    The same thing happened to me, I literally sent them a new proper image with my face and everything in it and they said that if I won't comply with their requirements my account will be disabled forever. I guess there nothing much we can do here in this situation.

    Its been one and a half days and Discord has STILL not reinstated my account yet. It's so disappointing how they can carry out a ban without any investigation whatsoever (maybe the mods need to get paid more), and then bam, 4 years of your online existence down the toilet! I sometimes wish I could make my own instant messaging platform so I will never have to worry about getting banned for stupid reasons..

    Going through the EXACT same thing, I also know someone else who's account recently got disabled. They need to crack down on this.

    This has also happened to me recently. In fact, this is the second time. Sadly, your account can still get disabled again even if you've verified that you're above 12 and before, etc.

    Literally me right now and I sent my school id containing my birthdate and the picture along with my user, and my face. And now they’re saying they want my birth certificate and my FULL name??? I literally can’t even rn

    School ID's aren't government issued nor do they have your date of birth.

     

    Accepted forms of ID usually include but are not limited to:

    - Passports
    - Driver's Licenses
    - Birth Certificates
    and other government issued documentation that has your date of birth. 

     

    This is in place to ensure that you are in fact of legal age to use the platform.

    In my instance as of lately, I sent them multiple photo's of my several government issued ID; drivers license, status card, passport and birth certificate and they have yet to respond to me for this same issue.
