Don't change the username system

It's seriously not hard to get an idea of how it works. Case sensitivity and remembering four digits is not as big an issue when if you're trying to connect with someone, you can just copy your name to message it to them then they copy it to put it into Discord. No remembering anything needed. As they are now, usernames are neat and tidy.

The instant this begins to roll out, instant, a black market for usernames is created. I have a 2016 account, so I have a pretty good chance to get the username of someone popular that made an account after me- if someone else doesn't first. And what are you gonna do about it? And I can sell this account for a pretty penny because of it. 

Or just add a segment into the introduction when you create an account of Wumpus showing how it works. Even saying, "These numbers are how you can be named the same as someone else!" After this unique naming thing, we'll see usernames be increasingly ridiculous as time goes on. People complaining that they can't have the name they want.     fun fact: discord account black market is already blooming, my friend can finally buy ssd for himself because his main account was from 2016 xD

     

    terrible idea by discord, if I won't be able to get my username, then I will be leaving discord without hesitation

    They're already noticing the drop in nitro subs. That's why they added the information about nitro users getting priority in the proposed change and changed the timeframe.
