Notification that a conversation is happening in a channel.

I have always had the problem where I have to mute (or set notifs to @s only) a channel because when people talk in it it gets pretty spammy. On the flip side, I always miss out on conversations because I don't know that one is happening. I think it would be neat if there was an option to get a ping after a certain amount of messages are sent. So if someone sends 1 message, I'm in no hurry to click to the channel. But if there are many people talking about something, I get a message saying, "there's a conversation happening in #channel!", or just get a normal ping for that channel. This way I would be notified if a lot of people are typing only once, preventing having my eardrums killed, and have missing 1 message not be too bad. Its kind of a setting in between @'s only and all messages. Let me know what you think about this!
