Fix /me
The /me command was changed in a recent update. It sucks now: change it back.
To start with it is confusing with the new 'highlights' that appear, it makes it disorientating to use and finally you cannot use spellcheck because it highlights the whole message or something.
Please, it was perfect as it was: change it back.

Revert it and fire whoever broke it in their attempt to justify their paycheck. Nobody asked for it, nobody wants it.

It also negatively impacts readability, because the popup that happens now blocks the most recent chat message while you're typing.

It is distracting. The popup blocks recent messages. And the hints are not even correct because if you press tab and keep typing, anything after the first argument is just discarded.
I hope this was an unintended side effect of some attempt to help with bot slash commands or something like that, but either way it was fine before.

This is the second time in a month it's been broken. As far as I can tell, the way it's worked has been fine across thousands of programs for decades. Why is this happening?

The change adds no new functionality that wasn't already there, while making the command more confusing, and it outright blocks the last message you are trying to reply to.

Putting in my own voice with this. It makes everything more difficult to use, and doesn't seem to really have a point to being there. Please fix it.

This is completely frustrating. Fix it, Discord. As others have said, no one wanted this. It's invasive. And it blocks out the message you're trying to reply to. Not very innovative. -5 points.

Issues:
Pressing Tab causes the message to become unsendable
Pressing Shift+Enter for a new line, makes the message become unsendable
Spellchecking is impossible
Right clicking for context commands doesn't work
The command banner staying up means messages can't be read (and responded to) on the last few lines
[Message:] is redundant
Solutions:
This is not the way to go about creating a better /me.
It has been asked to make /me more meaningful. but all that has happened is /me has lost functionality
Quick fix: Remove /me from the command menu and revert it to simply being an autoitalic
Longer Fix: maybe make it so that /me fuctions to replace the formatting of the text. Maybe have it so that the user text is in line with the name. making it so that it could be used to say
discordname does such and such1
