unable to directly upload anything to discord on the pc application

sorry if this is not the correct area to post this, first time posting anything here.

I am currently unable to upload any files to discord, its not an internet connection issue on my end as far as i can tell, sending text seems to work somewhat fine, i am able to receive images, sound files etc. but am unable to upload any to discord.

if anyone has any ideas as to what might be happening please let me know.

    are you exceeding the 8mb file size upload limit max for non nitro users

    no, i wasnt, but for some reason, it seems to be working fine today.

    though according to a quick test, my download speed has gone from 36mbps (that i got yesterday) to 12mbps, and upload speed has gone from 10mbps to 4mbps.

    I was also getting the same error yesterday but after i compressed my file it got uploaded without any error.

    I'd click the upload button to the left of the text box, select a file, and click "enter", but then nothing ever happens. No popup window with an optional text option, not even a white-out screen like what others have mentioned happen to them. Just simply nothing. I've restarted the client, I've restarted my computer, and I've completely uninstalled and reinstalled the entire Discord client, and nothing's actually helped. It's getting annoying as hell, and I'm not sure what else I can do.
