feature request: there should be an option to have playing/listening temporarily override custom status messages
hey
im not sure how others use discord, but the 'playing...' indicator is very useful for people who are mainly interested in playing games only when friends are playing.
setting a custom status disabling this activity is inherently:
- nonintuitive: why would my idle message overwrite my actively playing message? i already have the option to not broadcast what im doing
- difficult to even realize: idk how many people check their discord and happen to look at their own name in the user list while playing a fullscreen game, but id assume its pretty low. it took someone telling me they "didnt know i was on" through discord before i had to figure out why
i enjoy making people laugh, often with a combination of a nickname and a status (the emoji addition is a nice touch for this *chefs kiss*) but this realization has all but killed any desire i have to use it at all, and thats super unfortunate dude.
please consider making this feature you know, fully functional.
thanks

just gonna add this on for fun:
how the hell is there no option to disable notification sounds while in fullscreen exclusive applications?
if you can push voice transmission thru a fullscreen application, then you have the framework required and permissions necessary to also disable the notification sounds. obviously not push to talk sounds or w/e, id prefer a checkmark saying Play While Fullscreen? on the notification sounds menu, but like the idea behind needing to use streamer mode to do this is ridiculous
its kinda unreal how feature incomplete this product can be after this many years with an absolutely massive spike in userbase thus income generated thru the pandemic. i know slack is poppin off like a mf right now, these are incredibly basic functionalities were missing but we can share our damn screens
