Feature suggestion: In-game notes
So, Discord is in kind of a unique position of having an overlay that people can bring up while they're in a full-screen game, and one that works across a wide variety of games that may or may not have similar overlays from being hosted on Steam, Origin, Ubisoft etc.
What I have been doing for a while is that I created a chat room with only me in it so that I could take down notes for whatever game I was playing or write something down for once I was done with the game without having to minimize and bring up a text editor. I feel like, to an extent, this is similar to when the manuals that came with different video games would have pages of lined, otherwise-blank paper you could use to take notes about puzzles or passwords for the game they came with.
However, this is somewhat limited. There's no way to really organize the notes this way without creating another chatroom, and every time I click over to the chatroom I get a popup pestering me to add more people.
I could create a new server just for taking notes, and that would allow me to use the channels to sort them. However, I sometimes take down notes that are personal to me and that I wouldn't want anyone else to read. I don't want to risk someone coming into my private server uninvited, and I don't want to have to set up special permissions or countermeasures in case someone does just so I can take notes.
Plus, I don't know how Discord hosts servers versus private messages, but I would imagine it would be more resource-intensive to host a bunch of servers for single users versus expanding how the PMs work a bit, or even saving the notes client-side with maybe some cloud backups every so often.
So what I'm proposing is, add a dedicated note taking feature. Personally I would pattern it off of the servers, letting the user create channels to organize their notes better, but you folks are smart and I love the way Discord works so far so I'm sure if you implement this you'll figure out a good way to do it. I would also leave in the ability to add files, but perhaps make it opt-in whether said files would be backed up with the text of the notes or not?
I think a lot of people would appreciate this, I know I would. And although I don't think that many people use Discord this way currently, I think a lot of people would use a feature like this if it were implemented.

That's a great idea, maybe they can add a keybind to open up a little notepad, and you can title the pages and stuff like that!
