Send message button breaks when screen rotates.

Presently on the Android mobile app, the send message button will stop functioning (it can't be pressed) if Discord changes between portrait and landscape mode. If you start it in one mode and stay in that mode you can send messages fine, but the moment the screen rotates, the button will no longer work even if you rotate back to the mode you started discord in.

The only way to resolve this is to either restart the app or the phone.

I am encountering this issue on a Samsung S21+ with Android version 11.

    Same issue here. Problem started very recently, is very consistent/easy to replicate.

    Samsung S9 here, Android version 10.

    Long pressing the send button still provides the "Send message" tooltip, just sending doesn't work.

    Because discord is the only app I know of that will rotate 360 degrees, even upside down portrait mode (please please please change that), this happens a lot when you're laying down and makes the app a real struggle to use.

     

    Edit: Tested it on several Android phones now, they all have this issue.

    I managed to fix it by turning off auto rotate.Huawei Y6 Prime 2018 user here

    That stops it from rotating altogether, yes, but I can hardly toggle auto rotate on/off every time I want to send a message on discord..

    Turning off rotate is even more of an inconvenience. I usually read messages in portrait mode but reply in landscape mode.

    Happens for me too. Same repro steps on Android. Just started in the past couple days.

    Same problem on Sony Xperia xz1 compact.
    To write a message I need to kill app, rotate the screen and open app again or just give up writing from phone.

    Same for me. Really sucks cause i use Discord Most of the time on my Tablet on Landscape Mode

    Pixel 3a, Android v11, same. Please fix, this makes it very hard to use the app while lying down.

    Same for me, LG V40.

    Works both in landscape and portrait, but not after rotating while in app.

    Also, as Martijn wrote, upside down portrait mode is giga-cancer.

    I... Wouldn't have used those words, but yes on the sentiment.

    Thankfully they've fixed the rotation breaking message sending issue in the latest release for me. 59.12 (1428), I can send messages even after the screen rotates wildly as it does so often.
