NSFW Channel unread messages

okay so imagine this:

one day, discord does not allow you into a channel marked "NSFW" and you must enter your birthday to enter. You, an honest minor, set your age as a minor and from now on, is not allowed into the NSFW channels. No biggie, tis cool.

but get this, you get unread messages from it. not that big of a deal, but it's pretty dumb lol
you're just scrolling through every channel, marking everything as read, when you click/tap on a nsfw channel and its like "lmao no lol" and then you have to right click on it and press "mark as read" or mute it completely.

again, not that big of a deal, i've already stated a solution but like bro come on
cant u guys just tap tap tap a little and program it so that like 16 honest children who put in their actual age dont have to get unread messages from a channel they can't even go into?

in my servers i always make sure to lock all nsfw channels behind an "18+"/"adult" role so that only people who have specified that they are of the age of majority and been given that role by a mod can even see that the nsfw channels exist. can you bring that up as a possibility to the admins and/or mods of the server(s) you're having this problem in?
