DM - direct messages - delete messages you don't want

In DM we are given the option to delete the messages we sent. However, we are unable to delete message sent us. This means if somebody we know or don't know sends us something we don't like or is vulgar, repulsive, or flat out creepy that we are stuck with it there forever like be handed a sticky hand grenade we just can't get rid of. So, why do we half to deal with a bomb shell sitting on our front lawn? We should have the right and ability to get rid of it cause trust when I say no one wants to be caught in an explosion they didn't pull the pin on.
