set replies to NOT automatically ping

the fact that replies are always set to automatically ping the person being replied to is irritating and awful. next to nobody actually disables the ping on it, and it's really stupid to ping people who are present and active in a conversation.

instead of replies having the ping set to ON, have it default to OFF. it's irritating and it should seriously be changed.

there are also MANY cases where people either do not want to be pinged, or have it literally written in rules not to ping certain people - the fact that replies have their pings ON by default doubled with the fact that 99% of people don't care enough to turn it off is infuriating.

EDIT, ADDITION: GET RID OF REPLY PINGS IN DMS POINT BLANK PERIOD!!! Nobody needs to be pinged in a one-on-one direct message conversation!!! The fact that replies are FORCED to ping with NO option of disabling it in a DM is RIDICULOUS.

    Aight, but at this point are you just mad over the highlighted text and coloration, or what? I find it sort of weird how people go ballistic over a ping.

    I agree with ציון honestly, that being said I do think that it would be great to customize which default option you want in like settings maybe? Not sure if there would be an easier or more integrated way to choose whether you wanted replies to automatically ping people.

    i am sorry for the thing, but the whole little red icon, i hate having notos on yt and unread emails, or just the whole little red icon but i dont mind if its important  like dms are fine, or @ everyone is also fine but if its just a reply its just- hhh like if your saying hey i found this and i need more context on it that's fine but still- idk i hope this answerers your question ציון
