No barrier to post in announcements channels
There should be an ability to mark a channel as an announcement channel, to help prevent accidental chatting in them by giving a pop-up when you're about to post in one.

I like this idea in theory because I have been in many servers with people chatting in the announcement channel. But I don't feel like it would solve anything. Usually, only people with mod powers are able to talk in these channels, meaning that they know that the channel is only for announcements.
I have seen a server where anyone can post in the announcements channel, which was a problem for them. Ultimately, they decided to solve that problem by creating a new announcements channel and only letting mods post there.
I think the issue isn't with Discord, but with the servers themselves or the mods who post in the announcements channel even when it isn't an important announcement.
If you're in a server with this problem, I would probably bring it up to whoever runs that server and ask them to fix it.
