External media upload support
8MB is such a tiny restriction these days for media.
If the concern is "we cant handle that much data for free", just let us point the upload to some other platform where they obviously are better equipped to do so. Plus, it would allow people to do more with their media that they upload. It's a waste that I have to upload media to 2+ platforms if I want to share it around outside of discord.
Imgur has very easy to setup Oauth token so a user can sign in and upload media straight to that platform with little effort. The API is really easy to integrate too, it doesn't require much development at all besides error handling and feedback. I bet discord's own upload api is modelled in a similar way too, so swapping out the underlying upload destination with the existing upload feedback/menus/etc should be trivial to do.
However, it of course it a cut into Discord's own nitro subscriptions. There's not many perks for the subscription with that high of a price tag currently, and allowing users to upload for free would likely effect their bottom line. Unless, and I'd bet they would jump at it, they cut a deal with platforms like Imgur for them to pay Discord the exposed support.
