the overlay requiring me to use a work around to function because Discord isn't seeing the game
Basically, I use Discord a lot when I play Dungeon and Dragons Online (DDO). This may be an issue with other games, but I can't say.
Basically, when I first log on both programs (doesn't matter if Discord or DDO is up first) DDO will not show as active on the "Game Activity" tab. It will show on the games added list below and is not on the list of games available to add dropdown "Add it" menu. The voicechat and push-to-talk work fine at this point, but no overlay. Also, the hotkey to activate the overlay won't work because Discord doesn't see the game even though it's also running.
In order to make the overlay work I have to delete DDO from the the games added list. That allows DDO to appear on the dropdown list "Add it". Once relected there, it suddenly shows above on the "Game Activity" tab as being active. Once I then toggle the overlay on. the overlay functions normally. Until I log out or swap characters, then I have to redo the workaround.
It isn't the most hateful thing to have to do, but it is annoying and particularly a drag when you are trying to hurry so as not to make anyone else wait. It would just be nice to not have to do the workaround, tbh.
One note, I use the 64bit DDO client. I'm not sure if using the old 32bit client would make a difference. I'm certainly not going to use the old client, I'd rather do the work around, but that might be a clue as to why Discord isn't recognizing the game.
Thanks
