What's with the new UI update? It's terrible.

This place is absolutely barren, with people using it seeming to number in the very low double-digits. Doubt you're going to look at this, but hey, someone's gotta make a proper post that isn't just complaining.

No changelog, nothing said on social media or even the site itself, just an update and bam, your pings are different, your reacts are different. This isn't anywhere close to the largest of UI updates the developers have put out, but it's easily the worst. The other ones were actual updates, this one is just a downgrade in every way. Due to the lack of a changelog I can't be sure what's changed, all I can see so far is the pings and the reacts.

-The pings are horrendous on the eyes, both for those being pinged and those not.

-The color shift for whether or not your reply will ping someone makes it stand out more, but not in a good way.

-The new reacts design is the worst of the three (that I have personally seen). The border does look nice, but it's completely offset by how the actual images are now shrunk quite a bit which makes them hard to actually make out--something that was already an issue, but was one that was inevitable, while this version of it definitely wasn't necessary.

What's the deal here? Did somebody screw up and push an experimental design to production? Is this some silent test to see how people react? Something to do with the 6th birthday? Or is there some internal thing going on behind the scenes where someone recently got promoted and wants to change things for the sake of changing things?

Even if this place is barren, r/discordapp certainly isn't (unofficial, but Discord doesn't really have an official subreddit), so if you only actually take feedback here, go check that out. People are talking about some other awful color and design choices that aren't on my client for some reason, which points to even more weird stuff going on.

"Transparency reports." "Changelogs." I haven't seen either here, both are definitely needed. Literally the entirety of Hot in r/discordapp is about this...
