    I definitely agree, the new pings don't stand out and the pale colors make it harder to read (that's aside from it just being ugly in my opinion).

    I have a fear Discord is going to keep adding "nicer looking features" like this for a long time just like how Spotify ruined their app. I mean, they never stopped the darkening effect on message hover after people begged for that, so this is likely here to stay unfortunately.

     

    Still, it's complete garbage and if Discord keeps going down this direction for no reason they'll just lose people.

    Totally valid, but this recent change feels disjointed, especially the reaction button update.  The new rounded rectangle with highlight does not blend well with the current Discord theme.  Could it work? Absolutely.  Does it improve the current theme?  No.

    Agreed, it just makes the reacts and pings look too stark and terrible?? There's no reason for the change it worked perfectly fine before
