Some googling suggests you're using highlight.js, and as of this commit

they appear to only turn actual tag names in CSS "> meme arrow" blocks green.

I don't know if this is a new change, but leaving it in intentionally once notified that a routine dependency update clashes with the internet culture that made your platform popular in the first place would be very in line with the corporate tone-deafness of other recent changes, backing out of your current niche long before you've established a larger foothold elsewhere (and before you discover that all footholds elsewhere are taken by platforms with entrenched network effects, so by alienating your current customers, you're ceding ground to your competitors by first weakening yourself, then trying to overpower an entrenched former-equal in your new, handicapped state).

    The colours in the ``` mode were super cool for spicing up your server. There was no rason to remove it.
