New logo looks hostile.
The old logo was softer, and the slight asymetry that was 'corrected' made it look friendly. The shape of the new logo is like a brutalist architecture makeover of the logo, and it feels like its staring judgementally at me.
In the grand scheme of things, this probably isn't a large gripe. The logo team I'm sure wanted to invoke the orwelian Big Brother vibe, as a warning that in the future your servers will be scraped for saleable user data.
The font is absolutely reinforcing the unsettling vibes. The new colors are not only actively hostile, they're overly saturated to the point of burning into phone screens faster. This design update feels like something put together by an upper level corporate algorithm, not like someone designing for community inclusiveness and cohesiveness. It feels a lot like the Tumblr blue update, and we all know how @staff feels about the userbase.
The logo is just a small part of it, but if the first thing I see in the mornings is an icon that makes me feel judged, I'm going to have to find another way to manage my communities.

I agree on all points made here. I would like to also add how childish the new font for the brand name is. Personally to me, it looks like "Discord" is a toys company now.

this logo feels like it was specifically designed to torture and possibly kill autistic people. i cant look at the saturated color for more than a minute without severe migraines, which doesnt help that overstimulation (including oversaturated colors) can and will give me a seizure. at this point if i have a seizure at any point i should hold discord legally responsible.
