Feedback on the new look.
To start off positive, and to show this is genuine feedback and not just "change bad": The new color/s and the "Imagine" line are good! I like those, it's not a bad idea. Also as for the react and @ message changes, I like those too!
That's it though, I can't find any other good qualities about this visual update.
The new font is far harder to read, especially at smaller sizes like at the very top and bottom of this website. The new logo, similarly, achieves the opposite effect to what you guys wanted based off the blog post you made to explain the redesign. It does not feel more friendly and inviting at all, if anything it feels like every other "fake" friendly corp. out there and it gives the opposite effect and feels unwelcoming.
The old look and feel of Discord may not be "friendly" by your standards, but it was something FAR more important in that it was its own thing. Think of it like this- if I were going to go hang out with friends in real life, the coolest hangout spots are places that are unique and you can't find anywhere else.
Imo the old logo does of course need to be horizontally aligned properly. But the justification of change in the fact that Clyde is always trapped in his home is weak when you could quite easily just... make him blurple and remove the chat icon/home. Heck, in the icon for this very website, the one at the tab, he's in a circle, so surely him being inside a shape isn't that big of a problem lol.
I've been on Discord for over 5 and a half years now, and I've loved my time with the people I met through it. It's genuinely changed my life through the connections I've made! And that's why I care so much about this, this new redesign that strips the app I loved of it's unique feel and instead of iterating on the feel it had before, trying to change the feeling completely into one that feels like every other fake corporation out there that doesn't care about the individual person at all.
Edit- I also like the idea of Clyde being able to emote. That's cute! But nothing about that forces Clyde into the new sterile look, the old logo could do that just fine.

For me, changes made to Clyde are okay - i wouldn't even notice anything has changed, except for the bubble.
But the colors were turned into boring and unoriginal. They give me a felling that i already saw them, like, everywhere. Old Blurple was something i'd be able to easily associate with Discord before anything else. And the new one? Feels like something to go with Jira, Trello, agile tools and all the stuff i'd expect to see only at work.
Actually, i even suspect the change of colors was introduced to lower the cost of producing merchandise, because they're so similar to what could be readily available for apparel etc.

The old colors and logo design was the perfect combination of appeal to gamers and non-gamers. It was very friendly and inviting. This change has the opposite affect, like you are saying. Agree!
