Locked Out Due To 2FA
Yesterday I was on Discord and I was talking to my friends just fine, but today when I woke up I went on Discord and it said I was logged out. I thought I turned off 2FA but apparently I forgot to so I couldn't get back into my account because I don't have the codes. I have seen a lot of people having similar issues getting into their accounts because of 2FA, and most of them have lost their accounts due to it. I think Discord should make alternative ways to get through 2FA instead of just sticking to Google Authentication. For example, I think a lot of people would agree that sending two step codes to our emails would be one better way of 2FA.
I recall reading a comment on a similar post by someone 4 months ago saying that they do have SMS and E-Mail verification but only the Google Authentication/backup code way matters. Due to this I cannot get into the account that I have used for many years and because of that I have lost contact with many great friends that I have made, some of which I felt was like family.
Does anyone else agree that using SMS and/or sending codes to emails would be better than the Google Authentication way?
